Help

Psalms 12:1

“Help Lord, for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among  the children of men.”

The occasions for the use of this prayer are frequent.  In the book of Mark 9:24, the scripture says, “And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”  The father is asking Jesus to heal his son. The father believes , but also has doubts and he is asking Jesus to help him overcome his doubts and strengthen his faith. The Psalmist is mourning for the lack of faithful men. In modern times, every person comes to point when we may pray, “Help, Lord.”
