Kean And Wolff Receive Prestigious ESGR Patriot Awards

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is proud to announce that two associates, Angie Kean (Unemployment Compensation Director) and Melissa Wolff (IT Senior Director, Integrated Services), have been honored with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award. This distinguished recognition highlights their exceptional support for National Guard and Reserve members within their teams.
The ESGR Award is presented by the U.S. Department of Defense to individual leaders who go above and beyond to support citizen warriors and their families. The award reflects their efforts to provide flexibility, understanding and encouragement to those serving our country.
“It is with great pride that two of our associates have been chosen for this prestigious award,” said Chief Gary Batton of the Choctaw Nation. “The Choctaw Nation has always been very supportive of our military, and this is an awesome achievement.”
Angie Kean, nominated by Aaron Lewis, was commended for her compassionate leadership and dedication. “Ms. Kean has a heart of care and a true desire to help in any way she can,” said Lewis. “Since the day I [Lewis] was hired, she has been supportive, flexible, and always ready with an encouraging word. Ms. Kean exemplifies the Chahta spirit and lives the core values of the Choctaw Nation every day.”
Melissa Wolff, nominated by Peter Zaffina, was recognized for her proactive and understanding approach to supporting service members. “Melissa has consistently demonstrated unwavering support for my military service, going above and beyond to ensure I can balance both my civilian career and military duties as Brigade Signal Officer in the Army Reserve,” said Zaffina. “Her positive attitude and flexibility in scheduling have created a workplace culture where I feel valued as both an employee and a service member.”
The recognition of Kean and Wolff reflects their ability to lead with integrity, compassion and dedication. Their efforts not only support their team members but also exemplify the Chahta spirit, demonstrating how the core values of the Choctaw Nation come to life through servant leadership.
