Native November offers numerous experiences for everyone, no matter where you are located. See Chief Batton’s video and the list below for all the ways you can get involved in celebrating Native November.

 

  • Thursday, Nov. 7 – Tasting Thursday at the Choctaw Cultural Center: Enjoy samples of delicious desserts from the Choctaw Cultural Center’s Champuli Café. Stop by the silent auction during your visit!
  • Friday, Nov. 8 – Fellowship Friday at the Choctaw Cultural Center: Please join us in the Living Village, where you will be able to participate and learn from the Cultural Educators on how our ancestors prepared the chukkas for winter.   • Saturday, Nov. 9:
    • Stickball Saturday at the Choctaw Cultural Center: Experience and participate in a one-of-a-kind stickball demonstration – in the dark! Demonstrations will be held from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and from 2:30 to 3 p.m. Event information is available at the Choctaw Cultural Center events page.
    • SE Choctaw Game, 2 p.m. at SOSU: Choctaw culture will be spotlighted when the Savage Storm football team takes on the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns at Paul Laird Field on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. Before the game, tailgate with CNO’s College FYI at Tailgate Alley.
  • Monday, Nov. 11 – Choctaw Cultural Center: The Cultural Center will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day.
  • Next Week, Nov. 12-16 – Rock Your Mocs Week: Wear your moccasins, take a photo, create a video or story, add the hashtag #RockYourMocs and upload it to social media for the world to see and enjoy.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 13:
    • Wear your Regalia Wednesday: Show your Chahta pride in style!
    • WebEx Event: The Long History of Choctaw Hymns from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. Visit Native November for upcoming registration details.
  • Texas Legends Associate Discount Tickets: Join us for Choctaw Night at the Texas Legends Basketball game on Tuesday, Nov. 26. The Texas Legends will take on the Osceola Magic at the Comerica Center, 2601 Avenue of the Stars, Frisco, TX 75034 at 7 p.m. Tickets are free for Choctaw Nation associates and their family members at this link.
