Update from Benefits: Changes to CNO Employee Health Plan

Published on: June 18, 2024

Please note the following approved changes to the CNO employee health plan:

  • Mounjaro is no longer offered through the Employee Prescription Program, now in effect.
  • Mounjaro will still be available through RXBenefits/CVS network pharmacies with proof of a diabetes diagnosis.
  • Ozempic will now be the preferred medication for those with a diabetes diagnosis.
  • Also, now in effect, weight loss medications (Saxenda, Zepbound, and Wegovy) will no longer be eligible for coverage through CNO employee insurance regardless of pharmacy.
  • A letter with the information and key facts regarding this change was mailed to each impacted associate (based on current CNO employee health plan associate prescriptions).

Our focus is always to ensure that all associates on a CNO health plan receive quality care in the most cost-effective manner. These announced changes will prevent all associates on a CNO health plan (including those who are not prescribed one of the referenced drugs) from having to pay more for their health plan to accommodate the additional costs of the drugs listed.
