AI Governance Resources

What’s Happening?

  • We are focused on understanding AI’s role in our operations, analytics, productivity, and decision-making.
  • We encourage collaboration, self-reporting, and discovery. This will help prioritize the continued usage of AI tooling.
  • We aim to assess AI tools’ impact, address any unintended consequences, and ensure responsible usage and consumption.
  • This effort is a part of our ongoing review to address any ethical, security, and/or bias-related concerns.
  • As AI tools are powerful, their complexity and potential risks also require careful consideration.

Strategic Objectives

  • Protect and better serve our tribal citizens, associates, and intellectual property.
  • Maintain relevance
  • Identify mission critical verticals with the goal of derisking those first.
  • Understand how AI is being used in those mission critical verticals and its impact on strategic tribal goals.
  • Educate and train associates in their respective domains.
  • Serve as an archetype and leader to other tribes.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • Help us understand how AI plays a role in your work, by telling us what AI tools you use today.
  • If you do not inform us which AI tools you use today, there is a risk that you will not continue to have access to these tools following the Nation’s “Acceptable Use” policy (TW IT 304 Acceptable Use of Information Systems Policy).
  • For any inquiries related to this subject, contact your manager or the Help Desk (fill out an Itapela ticket or email: [email protected] or call 580-642-4357).

Accessibility Considerations

We understand that not everyone is familiar with technical jargon. If you have questions or need clarification, please reach out to our AI Governance team. We’re committed to ensuring that everyone understands the implications of this decision.
